Artist statement:

My art practice mostly revolves around trying to capture the magic and chaos of the world in a colourful and joyous way. I create art to express and depict the things I imagine, but also to process and gain control over things I know and see. It is a way of processing both the outside world and my own inner world. Growing up in a very rural setting and with a nature-based spirituality, the natural world became a place of great magic and play for me. I try to relay this connection through my work. Recently I have been playing with the idea of humans as jovial creators of chaos within the natural world, and plants, trees, and other creatures as the parental protectors or supervisors. I rely heavily on colour, and work most often in drawing, painting, and print.
